#LifeHack: Balancing Quality Of Life & Getting Things Done

I’m sitting outside by the pool and I wanted to send a message about quality of life. I’ve had to remind myself as well.
We get so busy in life that we don’t take time to smell the roses along the way. I’ve been in the music business for 20 years; I’m finishing up my new (8th) album, writing a new book, launching my 2 new programs:
1. VIP Coaching - for artists and creative warriors
2. Write Hit Songs - for songwriters.
Plus I have just-turned-7 twins. I realize that my life gets FULL on!!!
So how do we balance our life, our time?
How do we balance our TO-DO list? How do we get to everything?
Well I have 2 thoughts about that.
1. Time management does help. (I talk about this in my Creative Warrior Programs and Books)
2. Understanding where we are at, right here, right now.
Life doesn’t have to always be about doing, doing, doing, business, or getting things done. It can be about “smelling the roses” along the way.
Enjoying the weather - getting outside - going within – Meditating - Being with family
Think about those things today. Think about what is important to you. And put them at the top of the list.
And then, when working on your projects, be very structured about your TO-DO list. A TO-DO list is important every day,….. but look at the TOP 3 things – the most critical things that are important to you, that have to get done. for the day. The rest are a “nice to have”
You can also try a SCHEDULE. Create schedule from Monday to Sunday and carve out time in the schedule that is focused on certain things: like, a new project, writing songs, family. “Carve out time” just for making calls, or social marketing, or being creative, or….. just going for a run and having swim.
So
1. Keep your TO-DO list just about the key action items with top 3 that are most important to you.
2. Create a weekly Schedule.
Most importantly, don’t get caught up in the minutia of it all,… having to get all your tasks done. At the end of the day, it doesn’t make or break things. Most important is that on a daily basis, a minute by minute basis, you are enjoying your life, you are enjoy the journey.
Enjoy the process every day and At the end of the day you can look back and say “hey, I achieved this or that” (top three things), but you don’t have to achieve a laundry list.
What top thing, or top 3 things you want to achieve today. Consider focusing on what gets you closer to bliss, makes you feel good, and it is getting closer to your success – how YOU define Success, on your own terms.
